The school library’s role is to support the educational learning needs of the students by obtaining and making available relevant resources in conjunction with staff that will assist their development. The library also promotes a range of services to assist with implementing dynamic educational programs. Integration of educational technology has meant that the information skills taught by the school library are even more relevant that ever. The demands for information literacy and technological competence have changed the traditional role of the school library. The school library actively involves itself into all curriculum areas through collaboration with staff to ensure that the information needs of the students are meet.

The school library will operate on an open fortnightly schedule whereby a teacher may bring a class or group into the library at time best suited to the teaching/learning situation. Individual students or student groups may also use the school library resources as the need arises, provided that the library is available and supervision is negotiated.

The library has one main teaching space with two small study rooms at the rear of the library. The technological additions include 14 networked computers and one electronic smartboard with surround sound. Senior Study groups will be supervised within the library study area as negotiated.

Hours of operation
The school library will open Monday – Friday from 8.30am to 3.30pm during teaching hours. The school library will open every day for half of the lunch period and supervised by the Teacher Librarian.
